MALAYSIAN ECONOMY DEVELOPING WITH NUMEROUS JOB OPPORTUNITIES

KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak said the
Malaysian economy was not only expanding but created numerous job opportunities
in the process.

This, he said, was evident from the 40,000 jobs which were up for grabs at
the three-day Barisan Nasional (National Front - BN) Youth Job Fair 2011
participated by 650 companies.

Speaking at the launch of the career carnival here Friday, Najib said there
were developing economies which did not create employment for its people.

He said economic growth in Malaysia did not just happen overnight but was a
result of concerted efforts by the government to assure investors to continue
investing in the country.

With the increase in domestic and foreign investments, this automatically
created and enhanced job opportunities for the masses.

"Our long-term committment is to create 3.3 million jobs by 2020," he added.

The BN Youth Job Fair 2011 is the first mammoth career carnival of its kind
organised by the movement and is expected to attract 500,000 visitors.

The BN is Malaysia's ruling coalition government.
