ISKANDAR MALAYSIA TO CREATE 1.4 MLN EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 (Bernama) -- Iskandar Malaysia is projected to create
1.4 million employment opportunities by the time the economic growth region
reaches maturity in 2025.

In a statement Friday, Iskandar Regional Development Authority chief
executive, Ismail Ibrahim, said since Iskandar Malaysia's inception, a total of
20,000 jobs had been created in various growth sectors.

"Future opportunities will be created via catalytic projects such as
Legoland Malaysia, Johor Premium Outlet and not forgetting the supporting
industries and businesses that will be set up as a result of the realisation of
these projects," he said.

Iskandar Malaysia is participating in the BN Youth Job Fair 2011, held at
Putra World Trade Centre from March 25 to 27, 2011.

As at December 2010, Iskandar Malaysia recorded total cumulative investments
of RM69.48 billion (US$23.16 billion), exceeding the target of RM47 billion
(US$15.66 billion)by 48 per cent.

Iskandar Malaysia is the main southern development corridor in Johor state.
