SINGAPORE TO HOST SIXTH ROUND OF TPP TALKS
SINGAPORE, March 25 (Bernama) -- Singapore will host the sixth round of
negotiations on the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) talks from March 28 till
April 1, 2011.
In a statement Friday, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said over 400
delegates from the nine TPP parties -- Australia, Brunei, Chile, Malaysia, New
Zealand, Peru, US, Vietnam and Singapore -- would attend the talks.
It said the parties had agreed to intensify the pace of negotiations with a
view to work towards an outcome by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation
economic leaders' meeting in Honolulu in November 2011.
The TPP is a high-ambition, forward-looking trade agreement that aims to
address the challenges of the modern economy and tackle free trade agreement
issues such as trade liberalisation in goods, services and investments.
