Kaharama Attains Highest ISO Certification In Management


Doha , March 26 (QNA) - Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) said Saturday that the company attained an ISO certification for "Quality Management" and "Quality Training".
The certification was awarded to the company's filtration, training and development department of the human resources management.
In a press release, the Company said that the department succeeded in implementing the requirements of quality management in terms of training and developing employees of the company, in addition to exceling in filtration and employment. The statement added that attaining the highest management-related certification from Iso comes as a result of following Qatar National Vision 2030, a strategic plan which aims at transforming country into a most modern nation that relies on sustainable energy. The plan focuses on human development as one of the pillars of the first five-year plan which extends from 2011-2016. The press release noted that the company is one of the few organizations in the Middle-East which attained these certifications.
The statement said that achieving the certification is a new achievement that's added to Kahrmaa, and that it signifies the quality and team work that manifests in the organization and pushes it towards other achievements. The statement added that Kahramaa paid special attention to hiring Qataris who display potential and ability. The human resources laid down an ambitious filtration plan to "Qatarize", hire Qatari nationals, a plan which will see a 2% annual rise in Qatari employers for the next five years. This will raise the percentage of Qatari employees in the company to 525 of the total employees working in the company.
