President expresses sympathy to Myanmar following earthquake
VIENTIANE,MARCH (KPL)- President Choummaly Sayasone sent a message of condolence to his Myanmar counterpart Thein Sein regarding the deadly earthquake that hit northeastern Myanmar on March 24.
The message read, “I have learned the sad news of the earthquake in the northeastern part of Myanmar on March 24 which caused the loss of lives and property of the Myanmar people as well as state infrastructure in the
region,”
“On behalf of the Lao government and people, and on my own behalf, I would like to express my profound sadness and sympathy to your Excellency, and through your Excellency to the government and people of Myanmar, especially the families of the victims of the disaster.”
“I hope that with the active and timely attentions of the government and local authorities, the affected people will be able to overcome their difficulties, and the situation will return to normalcy swiftly.”
