GOVERNMENT ASKS FOR "OZAL" AUTHORIZATION
Justice and Development (AK) Party is getting an authorization to make "decree laws" in order to conduct new and fast regulations. The government requested from the parliament the power to issue decree laws for 6 months in order to restructure public administration. The authorization, which was frequently used during the term of office of former prime minister Turgut Ozal, was most recently used by the coalition government formed by Democratic Left Party (DSP), Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and Motherland Party (ANAP) in 2001.
REAL ESTATE PRICES ON RISE IN TURKEY
World-wide known real estate and investment firm Knight Frank conducted a survey on prices in the real estate sector. According to the report, real estate prices have not changed in the United States, while the highest rise has been recorded with 20 percent in Hong Kong. Turkey is in the 14th position in the list with an increase reaching 2.6 percent.

DEMAND FOR SUPER AUTHORIZATION
The government asked authorization from the parliament to make decree-laws. The government is planning to make radical changes ahead of parliamentary elections on June 12. It asked the authorization to establish new ministry and make radical changes in public personnel regime. If the government gets authorization, it will be able to make regulations they want for 6 months without needing the approval of the parliament.
CONTROVERSIAL STATEMENTS
A march was organized in southeastern province of Siirt upon allegations that there was a mass grave in Kasaplar Deresi. Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chairpersons, Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) leader, deputies, mayors and nongovernmental organizations attended the march. DTK co-chairperson Ahmet Turk said, "We don't want war. We want friendship to grow more. We will ask for freedom with a higher voice than the ones in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya."

FIRST TURKISH PRIME MINISTER IN IRAQI "KURDISTAN"
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is doing three things for the first time during his visit to Iraq. Erdogan will be visiting the regional administration of "Kurdistan" for the first time.
Erdogan has been the first Turkish prime minister in history who delivered a speech at the Iraqi parliament. The premier will have important talks today as well. The first one will be held with the great Shiite leader Sistani in Najaf, while the other meeting will be held with Massoud Barzani, head of the "Kurdistan" regional administration in the north of Iraq.
GULEN: I HAVE NO COMPLAINT OR LEGAL ACTION ABOUT THE BOOK
Fethullah Gulen, who has been at the center of discussions after the recent raids against Ahmet Sik's draft book "Imam's Army", commented on the developments through a statement delivered by his lawyer. Gulen said that numerous books against him had been published to date, however, he had never attempted to block an unpublished book.
"I have not expressed any personal complaints or taken any legal action about the mentioned book. It is totally an issue concerning the Turkish jurisdiction and I do not know on which grounds or evidence an investigation was launched about the book in question," he said.
