Laos, Vietnam further enhance cooperation on expats’ policy
VIENTIANE,MARCH 29 (KPL) - Laos and Vietnam have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation and lesson exchange on a policy for Lao and Vietnamese expatriates till 2015.
The document was signed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos, Mr. Hiem Phommachanh and his Vietnamese counterpart, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son in the presence of officials both sides.
The document was signed after a discussion between the Lao National Committee for Overseas Laotian Relations and the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese.
They have shared mutual lessons, direction, approaches and a number of detailed policies.
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence, Lieutenant General Douangchay Phichit received at his office in Vientiane on 29 March, a courtesy visit of Vietnamese delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
Mr Douangchay has highly valued the working visit to Laos of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son and his delegation as a great contribution to the existing long tradition of special solidarity and cooperation between the two Parties, two countries and Lao and Vietnamese people.
He also reiterated the Party and Government’s policy on oversea Lao giving opportunities and favourable conditions for them to visit homeland, business operation and permanent living.
Mr. Nguyen has also touched upon the Vietnamese Party and Government’s policy was quite similar Laos so the cooperation ties between the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese working with Lao National Committee for Overseas Laotian Relations was a very significance.
