Energy & Industry Minister Lauds Attention Accorded to Oil & Gas by National Strategy
Doha, March 30 (QNA) - HE Minister Of Enegery And Industry Dr. Mohamed Bin Saleh Al Sada has praised the due attention which
Qatar National Development Strategy 2011-2016 has accorded to the oil and gas sector as being the vital and mammoth economic sector in qatar which is also the major and the greatest source forming the Gross Domestic Product (QDP) .
In an exclusive interview to Arabic Daily Al Arab Newspaper published here on Wednesday, HE Dr. Al Sada said the Qatar National Development Strategy 2011-2016 which HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani launched at a ceremony held at the Doha Sheraton Hotel earlier Monday, constitutes a clearcut roadmap plan to materialize the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 and a logical step for executing such a vision.
The main advantage of such a strategy is the partnership of all parties concerned including the state ministries and other organs in the implementation of such a national development strategy noting meantime that all these parties concerned are acting in a concerted manner to realize such a unified tartget, HE Dr. Saleh Al Sada told Al Arab newspaper.
The energy and industry minister further said that such partnership including the presence of 14 sectors of the state raises the feeling that each sector is the owner of such strategy since that sector has participated in upgrading and implement such a strategy for materializing the targets of qatar national vision 2030.
This strategy is in consistency with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 and promotes the diversification Qatar's economy to lay the groundwork for a productive and creative society and create new opportunities for Qatari youth, HE the Minister Of Energy And Industry said adding the new budget 2011-2012 would be a mechanism for executing the Qatar National Development Strategy 2011-2016 which constitutes a step forward and a qualitative turning in the governmental institutional action .
Touching on gthe size of the governmental expenditure under such a strategy , dr. al sada said the governmental expenditure depends on the capital projects which were approved . These projects are mainly the infrastructure and the capital industrial projects in addition to upgrading the governmental performance as a whole, Al Arab daily quoted Al Sada as saying.
Elaborating HE the Minister Of Energy And Industry was quoted by Al Arab daily as saying that the coming stage would witness the development of a number of oil sector related projects in addition to upgrading the petrochemicals sector via the implementation of a number of petrochemicals projects which benefit the small and intermediate industries in the coming years and the other complementary industries .
HE Al Sada referred to the launching of a set of leading enterprises relating to energy sector such as aluminium with a view to the optimal use of the available natural resources noting however that the State of Qatar is concentrating on development and is always seeking to be an outstanding economic and financial hub not only in the region but in the world at large.
