MOHD ALI TO PROMOTE MELAKA AT SARAJEVO BUSINESS FORUM

MELAKA (Malaysia), March 31 (Bernama) -- Melaka state Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam will be leaving for Bosnia to speak at the Sarajevo Business Forum that will be held from April 6 to 8.
"This forum also allows us to promote Melaka in various fields," he told reporters here Thursday.
He said Melaka was keen to explore opportunities in green technology and manufacturing with entrepreneurs from Bosnia and other countries, while the Bosnian government was interested in Melaka's agriculture projects including Melaka Delight mangoes.
It was important for Melaka to seek investment opportunities that would benefit both parties, he said.
Last year, Melaka received investments exceeding RM1.63 billion (US$543 million) and from the total, foreign investments made up over RM1.19 billion (US$396 million).
Mohd Ali also said Melaka was in the final phase of study to develop a solar farm in the World Solar Valley in Rembia.
The proposal paper would probably be finalised by April 12 before it was submitted to the federal government for approval, he said.
He said the project which could generate 5MW of power, would be 100-per cent owned by the state government through Kumpulan Melaka Bhd.
Melaka is located 148 km south east of Malaysia's capital city Kuala Lumpur.
