GOVERNMENT MAKING POLICIES CONDUCIVE TO DRAWING BACK HOME OVERSEAS TALENT

KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 (Bernama) -- The government is making its policies conducive to drawing back home more Malaysian talent working overseas, said Human Resources Minister Dr S.Subramaniam.

"I think our ability to provide things such as better career development, remuneration and working environment, will act as an attraction to bring back and retain them," he told reporters after officiating the Asian Institute of Finance (AIF) International Symposium 2011 here, Thursday.

He said the government recognises the basic needs of the talent and will make things more conducive for them.

"These are very basic needs that anybody would ask for, anywhere in the world," he added.

Subramaniam also said Malaysians overseas have got used to the working environment there and on their return, expect more or less the same conditions.

"In wanting to address this issue, there may be some fundamental differences but this is inevitable," he added.
