M'SIAN COMPANY NORTHERN UTILITY RESOURCES UP FOR SALE

KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 (Bernama) -- Northern Utility Resources Sdn Bhd (NUR)
is inviting Malaysian companies, including joint ventures or consortia with
foreign equity participation not exceeding 25 per cent, to fully acquire the
company.

"The group operates an in-situ Independent Power Utility (IPU) within the
Kulim Hi-Tech park, and holds licences to operate an IPU up to 2028," said Ernst
& Young in a statement issued on behalf of the receivers and managers of NUR
Thursday. Kulim is located in the northern state of Kedah.

It currently generates, supplies, transmits and distributes reliable and
secured energy of 170 MegaWatts at gazetted tariffs to multinational tenants in
the 1,700-hectare industrial park.

Interested parties wishing to participate in the sale process must have
strong financial standing, and meet the necessary conditions set by the Energy
Commission and other regulatory authorities for operating an IPU.

They must provide all necessary information requested when submitting their
Expression of Interest (EOI) to the receivers and managers by May 12.

Collectively, NUR's 100 per cent equity, is held by three companies.
