Pap Unveils 6`th Batch Of New Candidates For General Election
SINGAPORE (Bernama) - The ruling People's Action Party (PAP) has introduced three more new candidates for the coming general election.
Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who introduced the three candidates Thursday said although some of the candidates introduced so far are new and inexperienced, they will learn the ropes.
"The real 'insurance policy' for Singapore is a team that can form a good, strong government," he was quoted as saying by Channel NewsAsia.
Teo made the remark in reference to the comments by some opposition leaders that a stronger opposition's presence is needed to serve as an "insurance" should the PAP government fail.
The party has so far introduced 18 new candidates, fuelling speculations that the elections could be held soon.
