Medvedev arrives in China to attend BRICS summit, Asian forum

SANYA (Hainan province), April 13 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President
Dmitry Medvedev arrived in the Chinese city of Sanya on the Hainan Island,
where he will participate in a BRICS summit.
On Wednesday, Medvedev will have separate negotiations with his BRICS
counterparts and those within a new partnership format on Thursday.
Alongside, the Russian leader will participate in 'the Asian Davos', which
is an Asian Forum that will be held in the settlement of Boao on the
eastern coast of the Hainan Island. Then the Russian president will have
the first visit to Hong Kong, the special administrative district of China.
The Russian presidential airliner landed at the Phoenix airport. The
welcome posters with the pictures of the leaders of Brazil, Russia, India,
China and the South African Republic are placed all round the city. It is
a high humidity and 29 degrees Celsius in the Chinese southernmost
tropical resort. The city is surrounded with the mountains from three
sides and is washed by the South China Sea from the fourth side.
