SUICIDE BOMBER BLOWS HIMSELF UP IN A MOSQUE, INJURING 20 PEOPLE

JAKARTA, April 15 (Bernama) -- A suicide bomber blew himself up during the
Friday prayers in a mosque of the Cirebon Police Complex in West Java Friday,
injuring 20 people, including the Cirebon police chief.

Witnesses were reported as saying that a man in black, who was standing in
the third row of the congregation, opened his jacket and a loud explosion
ensued.

Most victims were injured by fragments of nails from the bomb.

"After the explosion, fragments of nails were found scattered in the mosque.
Most of the victims were injured by them," a witness, Ahmad Fauzan, told
detikcom.

It was a horrible sight at the At-Taqwa Mosque, he said, as many were
injured and smeared in blood.

Police have yet to ascertain the identity of the suicide bomber, the motive
and the group involved.

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono slammed the act and was
waiting for a report from the police, presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha
told Kompas.com.
