Yemen: trade volume with Netherlands reaches YR 121.8 bln in 2010

SANA'A, April 25 (Saba)- The volume of mutual trade between Yemen and Netherlands reached YR 121.8 billion
in 2010 by an increase of YR 48.5 billion from 2009 ,with a growth rate of 66 percent.
According to the Central Organization of Statistics (COS)'s data, Yemen's imports from Netherlands jumped to YR 116.5 billion in 2010, compared with YR 66.6 billion in
2009, while Yemen's exports to Netherlands decreased to about YR 5.3 billion compared with YR 6.6 billion during the same period.
The rise in Yemen's imports and decline in its exports to Netherlands led to a high in the trade balance between the two countries for the benefit of Netherlands by a total
sum of YR 111.2 billion in 2010 from about YR 60 billion in 2009, the data indicated.
The trade balance between the two countries has witnessed a significant growth in recent years for the benefit of Netherlands, as it reached YR 72.3 billion in 2008 compared
to about YR 17.2 billion in 2007.
