YAHOO LAUNCHES NEW MOBILE AD FORMATS
KUALA LUMPUR, April 26 (Bernama)-- Yahoo!, a digital media company, has
introduced three new mobile rich media advertisement formats for advertising in
iPhones in Malaysia.
The country sales director of Yahoo! Malaysia, Jon-Tjin Kee said there was a
growing opportunity for online advertising revenue in Malaysia.
"According to market statistics, four per cent of advertising revenue in
Malaysia comes from online media. It will grow to about eight per cent of
the overall advertising revenue in two to three years times," he said during a
media briefing Tuesday to introduce Yahoo!'s new mobile advertisement formats.
The print media remains the biggest contributor to advertising revenue in
Malaysia, while television is the second largest.
"However, the situation is the opposite in UK where online advertisement is
the largest contributor to advertising revenue. In US, television is the largest
advertising revenue," Jon said.
For online advertisements to be more attractive, Jon stressed that new
advertising formats would have to be constantly explored.
This would offer marketers an opportunity to experience with new digital
canvases that target audiences in innovative ways.
To further boost rich media experience and interesting new advertising
formats on Yahoo! website in Malaysia, Jon said Yahoo! will be introducing
Search Direct, an innovative and faster format in accessing search results.
It will also introduce Livestand, a personalised digital newsstand for
tablets and mobile phones.
"Livestand from Yahoo! will enable publishers and advertisers to seamlessly
distribute content across tablets and mobile phones in a personalised
experience for individual consumers," he said.
