70 FOOD STALLS AT THAI FEST 2011
KOTA BAHARU (Malaysia), April 26 (Bernama) -- Seventy stalls using the
concept of Thai food will be set up at the Thai Fest 2011 to be held for six
days here beginning May 4.
The Thai Royal Consul General in Kota Baharu, Surapon Petch-Vra said 40
stalls at the fest, carrying the theme Sawadee Thailand, would be represented by
Malays in Southern Thailand while the rest would be from other provinces in
Thailand.
"The annual programme, as usual, will use the food concept and feature the
various unique food. It aims to enhance bilateral ties between communities of
the two neighbouring countries, particularly Kelantan and Southern Thailand," he
said at a media conference at his office, here Tuesday.
He also disclosed that 160,000 tourists were recorded to have entered
Thailand via the Malaysia-Thailand border in the state.
