AIRASIA PASSENGER TRAFFIC UP 19.3 PCT IN FIRST QUARTER 2011

KUALA LUMPUR, April 26 (Bernama) -- AirAsia Bhd has announced that its
passenger traffic increased 19.3 per cent to 7,229,462 passengers in the
first quarter 2011 compared with 6,059,881 passengers in the corresponding
quarter of last year.

In a statement Tuesday, the low cost airline said that of the
passengers carried in the quarter reviewed, 4,318,334 passengers were from
Malaysia, 1,817,485 passengers from Thailand and 1,093,643 from Indonesia.

Total capacity during the first three months rose 10.8 per cent to 8,958,488
seats versus the 8,087,373 seats in the same period of 2010, derived from
additional flights, as the group increased its aircraft to 93 from 83
previously.

As for March 2011, it said passenger traffic in Malaysia recorded a
percentage increase of 18.5 per cent to 1,518,754 passengers with a load factor
of 81 per cent versus the 1,282,182 passengers in March 2010 with load factor of
75 per cent.

As for Thailand, passenger traffic in March increased 20.1 per cent to
606,087 passengers from 504,773, while Indonesia saw passenger traffic grow by
21 per cent to 363,604 passengers from 300,459 previously.
