SDPM urges Thanaleang Warehouse State Enterprise to expand

(KPL) Standing Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad, urges Thanaleang Warehouse State Enterprise to expand its businesses and he said this when he was in Hadsaifong district, Vientiane Capital on 25 August.
The meeting, organized by this state company, was held at its premises and it was also attended by the Minister of Finance, Mr Somdy Duangdy, the head and deputies of the Customs Department and the directors of Thanaleang Warehouse State Enterprise.
Mr Somsavat urged the Thanaleang warehouse State Enterprise to strengthen its activities and to make full use of its potential.
The Thanaleang Warehouse State Enterprise, he said should improve the coordination between its units and pay attention to making improvements to its infrastructure. It should expand its field plant and use modern technology on services, in its domestic and foreign country operations.
In 1992, the government leased the warehouse to the private sector for 15 years and as the lease ended, it was handed back to the government on 13 August 2008.
One hundred and twenty five civil servants and 250 workers are working for this state company. Sixteen of its staff are card holders of the Party.
The plant contributed to the state’s finance. From September to December 2007 it made a profit of 1.5 billion kip and for 2008 it is expected to contribute even more, four billion kip.
