SINGAPORE VOTERS TO RECEIVE POLL CARDS FROM FRIDAY
SINGAPORE, April 28 (Bernama) -- Some 2.2 million Singaporean voters from
the 26 contested wards are expected to receive their poll cards from Friday.
The Elections Department said that all eligible voters should have received
their poll cards by May 3.
Votes can be cast on May 7 from 8am to 8pm at the polling station indicated
on the poll card.
There will be 732 polling stations in schools, community clubs and Housing
and Development Board void decks.
Arrangements have been made to assist the disabled at polling stations.
The PAP has been in power since the independence of Singapore in 1965.
In the 2006 general election, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong led PAP to win
82 of the 84 seats, including 37 walkovers.
