MIDA TO LEAD DELEGATION TO OFFSHORE TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE

KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Investment Development
Authority (MIDA) in collaboration with the US Embassy here will organise a
delegation to participate in the Offshore Technology Conference in Texas from
May 2 to 5.

MIDA Director-General Jalilah Baba and Councelor for Commerce Affairs
at the US Embassy, Nasir Abbasi, will lead the delegation for an industry
networking session, focusing on Malaysia.

This session will highlight business opportunities in Malaysia, with the
Regent of the northern state of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah, as the guest of
honour for the networking session, a MIDA statement said Friday.

Thirty-two private companies and 60 participations will participate in the
conference while more than 100 individuals are expected to take part in the
networking meetings.

Each year, the conference attracts more than 65,000 attendees and 2,000
exhibiting companies from 120 countries.

"We are participating in this conference for the third year running as it
has proven its effectiveness as a platform to create business opportunities for
companies, particularly in the oil and gas sector," Jalilah added.
