ESCAPE FROM SYRIA
The crisis in Syria has also hit Turkey. 243 Syrians crossed the border and took shelter in the southern Turkish province of Hatay on the day the United States froze assets of Syrian leader Bashar al-Asad and his family. An urgent "refugee summit" convened in Ankara. 

OUR TARGET IS ZERO INTEREST
Speaking at the All Industrialists' & Businessmen's Association, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "they are talking about poverty or some other things. However, more than half a million cars were sold in 2010, and this number will be up to 1 million this year. 436,000 refrigerators were sold in the first three months of this year. Another important indicator is interest rates. The interest rates were 63 percent in 2002, but they are 8.1 percent in 2010." Erdogan said interest rates were 0.25 percent in the United States and 2.3 percent in Israel, adding that Turkey would come to that point sooner or later.

"PROSECUTOR UNDER GOVERNMENT PRESSURE"
Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP), pointed to doubts in investigations into the university entrance exam and Deniz Feneri charity. Kilicdaroglu said hopes of students had been faded in the university entrance exam, and addressed prosecutors. Kilicdaroglu said, "how could you inform the government and the person who conducted a coded exam if the investigation was secret?" Kilicdaroglu claimed that prosecutors dealing with Deniz Feneri case were urged "not to file a lawsuit until elections."

MIGRATION FROM SYRIA BEGINS
When the casualties in the clash between security forces and opposition are raising in Syria, 500 Turkmens escaped from Syria and took shelter in Turkey. The first wave of migrants led to busy hours in Ankara. Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutolu held an "urgent summit" at the ministry building. Chief of General Staff Gen. Isik Kosaner debated developments in Syria and Libya with Admiral Locklear, who is conducting the NATO operation.

BASHAR'S PERSECUTION REACHES TURKISH BORDER
Those fleeing from violence in Syria have arrived at the Turkish border. A group of almost 250 Syrians carrying Turkish flags entered Turkey at the Yayladagi border gate. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu returned to Ankara after the Syrian crisis erupted. A meeting on Syria took place at the Turkish Foreign Ministry Residence.

CHP ERECTS "TENTS OF DEMOCRACY"
Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) erects "Tents of Democracy" in locations where rallies are being organized. CHP officials listen to the problems and complaints of citizens in these tents.
