Dutch branch of Turkish private airlines launches flights from Amsterdam to Dalaman town
MUGLA (A.A) – 30.04.2011 - Dutch branch of a Turkish private airliner, based in the Mediterranean province of Antalya, made its maiden flight from Amsterdam, the Netherlands to Dalaman town of the Aegean province of Mugla on Saturday.
Corendon Dutch Airlines brought 180 passengers to Dalaman Airport by its first flight.
"Two Corendon Dutch aircraft will land at Dalaman every Saturday," Corendon Dutch's Turkish owner Yildiray Karaer said.
Karaer said the company would raise its weekly flights to Turkey to ten soon.
Corendon Dutch Airlines is a Dutch branch of the Turkish Corendon Group (which also operates Corendon Airlines in Turkey). It has started to operate flights in the beginning of 2011, serving European holiday destinations from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
Corendon Group is a group of companies located mainly in the Netherlands, Belgium and Turkey, whose main field of business is tourism. Corendon Group entities include Corendon International B.V., Corendon Vliegvakanties, Corendon Golf, BBI Amsterdam B.V., Corendon Estate B. V., Corendon Belgium Beltur, AD Turizm A.S.
Founded in 2004, the airline launched flights in April 2005. Main flight destinations are Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Brussels, Paris, Strasbourg, Marseille, Rome, Tirana, Tel-Aviv.
Corendon Airlines carried 610,000 passengers in 2008, 685,000 passengers in 2009 and 925,000 passengers in 2010.
