GSDP, TAMU-Q Discuss Cooperation in Implementing Qatar National Starategy

Doha, May 02 (QNA) - The General Secretariat for Development Planning (GSDP) s Director General HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jabor Al Thani discussed with Dean of Texas A&M University in Qatar (TAMU-Q) Dr. Mark Wiechold cooperation between GSDP and TAMU-Q on issues pertaining to supporting the State of Qatar to advance its agenda on the "knowledge-based economy" as well as the implemetation of the NDS 2011-2016.
The meeting tackled ideas and views on the possible role of TAMU-Q, in supporting the State of Qatar to advance its agenda on the "knowledge economy", building on GSDP s projects and initiatives on this issue. Ways through which TAMU-Q can contribute to the implementation of the NDS were also discussed, and a number of practical possibilities were identified for further investigation.
It was agreed that TAMU-Q will make proposals on the way forward, in light of the discussions, and in line with the NDS 2011-2016 and its programs and projects.
