MAN SEEKS HELP TO FREE WIFE MADE DRUG MULE IN BRISBANE

KUALA LUMPUR, May 4 (Bernama) -- A security guard has sought help from the
government to free his wife, who was arrested on suspicion of smuggling drugs
into Australia through the Brisbane International Airport on Sunday.

Adam Aiman Abdullah, 32, said his wife, Roslaila Abd Aziz, 29, was arrested
by the Australian police, who detected several packets of white powder believed
to be drugs in her body.

He said Roslaila left for Australia with her old friend identified only as
Aishah, whom she met at a petrol kiosk in Ipoh.

Roslaila, a mother of a four-year-old daughter, left for Kuala Lumpur with
Aishah last Thursday and stayed at the home of Aishah's boyfriend, who is an
African, Adam told Bernama over telephone Tuesday night.

He said Roslaila contacted him from Queensland where she was under detention
at about 4pm from Monday.

"She was in fear and crying. She told me that when she stayed at Aishah's
boyfriend home (in Kuala Lumpur), she was forced to swallow several packets of
white powder which they claimed as medicines.

"They threatened to kill my wife and family if she refused to do so and I
believe my wife had been deceived and made a drug mule," said Adam who is from
Jalan Menglembu Impiana, Menglembu, Ipoh.

Roslaila was led into believing that she would be paid RM2,000 for
accompanying Aishah to Australia by her (Aishah's) employer while the air fare
and winter clothing were paid for, he said, adding that Aishah claimed she
worked at a spa.
