Hindi translation of Oz multicultural policy available online
Melbourne, May 4 (PTI) In a bid to woo the Indian
community, the Australian government has announced that its
multicultural policy, 'The People of Australia,' has been
translated into Hindi and is now available online.
"Australian society has multiculturalism at its core. The
many generations of migrants who have made Australia their
home have positively shaped our national identity and
contributed to the story of our nation," said a statement
released by Australian High Commissioner Peter Varghese.
"The Hindi translation of the 'The People of Australia'
reflects the importance of the Indian community in Australia
and the community's broad contribution to Australian life. I
hope Hindi-language readers will enjoy reading the policy,"
the statement said.
The federal Government launched its multicultural policy
on February 16 this year and has translated it into several
languages, including Hindi.
The policy recognises the diversity of Australian society
and reinforces Australia's commitment to multiculturalism,
fairness and inclusion.
The Hindi translation can be accessed from the website:
