M'SIAN EDUCATIONAL POLICY NEEDS TO FOCUS ON HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT

KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) -- The Government in drafting the education
policy should pay more attention to the objective of developing quality human
capital, said the president of Transparency International, Malaysia (TI-M) Paul
S K Low.

Developing quality human capital will be crucial to achieving a developed
nation status by 2020, he said at the Corporate Directors Conference 2011 here
Wednesday.

The policies put in place must be consistent otherwise it will interrupt the
education process, he said.

Paul said this during a discussion on "Challenges and Opportunities in
Transitioning to a High Income Developed Nation" during the conference.

Themed "The Resurgence of Corporate Malaysia", the Corporate Directors
Conference 2011 was organised by the Malaysian Alliance of Corporate Directors
(MACD).
