SABAH BN IS STRONG, UNAFFECTED BY P.PAUH BY-ELECTION RESULTS, SAYS CM
KOTA KINABALU (Malaysia), Sept 4 (Bernama) - The Sabah Barisan Nasional (National Front) (BN) government remains strong and is unaffected by the results of the recent Permatang Pauh parliamentary by-election, Chief Minister Musa Aman said Wednesday night.
He also said that the time for politics had passed and it was now the time
for work.
"Let's not be engrossed with politics or waste our time with the crossover
issue, or about a Sept 16 government or other trivial matters being played up by
certain groups, particularly the People's Justice Party (Parti Keadilan Rakyat)
(PKR).
"This will only cause us to lose focus and waste the time which we could
otherwise use to plan and implement development projects for the people.
"It's time to unite and fulfil the mandate given to us," he said at the
Breaking of Fast with the Prime Minister organised by the Sabah Federal
Secretary Office, here.
He said the huge mandate given to the BN in Sabah in the 12th general
election was a trust that should be shouldered whole-heartedly.
"In this respect, the strong cooperation at all levels, especially between
leaders and public officers as well as between policy makers and the
implementors, will continue to be strengthened," he said.
Musa also thanked Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for the
2009 Budget which he described as a people-friendly budget and one that could
greatly benefit Sabah.
"This is proof of the sincerity, caring and commitment on the part of the
federal government, especially the prime minister," he said.
