Turkey international Nuri Sahin joins Real Madrid
MADRID (A.A) - 09.05.2011 - Spanish La Liga club Real Madrid announced the transfer of Turkey midfielder Nuri Sahin from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
In a statement on its internet site, Real Madrid said that Germany-born Sahin was one of the key player in Borrusia Dortmund's winning the league title this season.
"Twenty-two year old Nuri Sahin is a talented, young midfielder fresh off a German Bundesliga title with Borussia Dortmund. The German-born Turk has a knack for distributing the ball as well as recovering it," Real Madrid said.
"With a powerful left foot and an eye for ball placement, he is also a master at free-kicks. Sahin has wowed the world since the age of 16, when he became the youngest player to play and score in the Bundesliga," it added.
Spanish sports media reported that Madrid side would sign a six-year contract with Turkish playmaker. Sahin would be paid 2.5 million euro each year, reports said.
Meanwhile, Sahin told reporters in Germany that it was a hard decision for him.
"I will always be a Borussia Dortmund fan," he said.
