PM NAJIB LEAVES FOR SAUDI ARABIA

KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak left for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Friday.

The government aircraft carrying Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, took off from the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) base in Subang at about 9.30am.

In Saudi Arabia, the prime minister is scheduled to meet King Abdullah Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and later perform the umrah in Mecca before leaving for Qatar to begin a two-day official visit to the Gulf state Saturday.

Before his departure for Riyadh this morning, Najib had announced a US$20 billion project by Petronas to construct an integrated refinery and petrochemicals complex in southern Johor, to be commissioned by end-2016.
