Leader's Advisor Warns about Enemies' Plots to Create Rift among Iranians

TEHRAN, May 15 (FNA)- Supreme Leader's Advisor for Military Affairs Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi warned about the plots hatched by the enemies to sow discord among the Iranian people, specially in Kordestan province.
The enemy, based in Afghanistan and Iraq, is trying to create a deviant line of thought in Kordestan Province, Safavi, who is the former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, said, addressing university students and staff in Sanandaj, Kordestan province on Saturday.

Today the enemy is trying to achieve its sedition objectives in Kordestan through forming a new group, which opposes the Sunnah (traditions of Islam), in order to preach an anti-Islamic ideology, sow discord among Muslims, and promote the idea that Muslims are unbelievers.

He also expressed hope that Kordestan Province's officials and police take serious steps to deal with the issue.

Earlier, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei had also warned about the enemies' plots, and stressed that the Islamic establishment could not resist against enemies if the Iranians did not have a complete presence on all scenes and if there were a rift between the people and the country's officials.

Ayatollah Khamenei urged the Iranian nation to maintain national unity and strengthen its solidarity with the three branches of the state.

The Leader emphasized in October that the country's enemies failed to create a rift between the Iranian nation and the officials of the Islamic establishment.
