Al-Afasi urges ALO to implement recommendations of previous sessions

CAIRO, May 15 (KUNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Justice and Minister of Social Affairs and Labor of Kuwait Dr. Mohammad Muhsin Al-Afasi on Sunday called on the Arab Labour Organization (ALO) to move forward on the implementation of resolutions and recommendations that come out from it for the sake of achieving a decent life for the Arab citizen.
Al-Afasi told reporters on the sidelines of his participation in the 38th ALO session in Cairo that the ALO ought to activate and implement all the resolutions and recommendations issued by its various sessions, rejecting at the same time the call for a meeting without any outcome that serves the Arab nation.
He said there was reluctance from the ALO in the implementation of previous decisions and r ecommendations that concern the Arab citizen and to ensure a decent life, stressing the need for adoption of resolutions and recommendations that are applicable in case all previous resolutions were hard to implement.
Al-Afasi pointed out that what is being witnessed in a number of Arab countries of revolutions was the result of frustration as well as lack of implementation of various decisions of the various Arab organizations to reduce their problems and suffering.
He said the State of Kuwait and with the initiative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has called for the establishment of a fund to support small and medium enterprises to raise living standards and reducing unemployment in the Arab countries during the economic summit in Kuwait in January 2009.
He explained in this context that the State of Kuwait has ensured 25 percent of the capital of this fund of USD two billion, however, this fund and, after three years has not been completed, calling on all Arab organizations, particularly the ALO to accelerate the activation of all the resolutions and recommendations on upgrading living standard of Arab citizens in different Arab countries.
