Iranian FM Condemns Zionists' Crimes against Palestinian Demonstrators

TEHRAN, May 16 (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi deplored Israel's reckless massacre of the Palestinian demonstrators in border areas of Lebanon, Syria, Gaza and West Bank.
Israel on Sunday killed eight and wounded several hundred Palestinian demonstrators during the Nakba Day or "day of the catastrophe" demonstrations marking the Zionist invasion of Palestine on May 15, 1948, which led to the massacre and displacement of millions of Palestinians to this day.
The Iranian top diplomat blasted the Zionists' crimes against the innocent Palestinian civilians as a blatant violation of the international rules and resolutions, and called on the international bodies to deal with Israeli crimes promptly.
He also described massive popular resistance as the only way to confront the suppressive policies of the Zionist regime.
On the "Nakba (Catastrophe) Day" in May 15, 1948, the Israeli soldiers wiped nearly 500 Palestinian villages and towns off the map, leaving the Palestinian refugees dreaming of an eventual return to their homeland more than six decades later.
