Grand Mufti of Bosnia-Herzegovina praises Kuwait''s role in preserving Islamic identity

SARAJEVO, May 17 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs plays an important role in preserving the Bosnia and Herzegovina Islamic culture and heritage, besides consolidating its religious identity, the country Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Ceric said here on Tuesday.
He added in remarks to KUNA that the Kuwaiti ministry built a number of mosques and Islamic centers that contributed in spreading Arabic language and Islamic culture in the country.
Ceric also praised the role it plays in financing projects that helped refugees to practice their religious rituals in their destroyed villages during the war.
The ministry arranges regular field tours to its projects in the country, he added, referring to the visit of the assistant-undersecretary of awqaf ministry for foreign relations and 'Hajj', Dr. Mutlag Al-Garrawi last night to check on the activities of the mosque s and Islamic centers.
The Grand Mufti thanked the efforts of Kuwaiti embassy in Sarajevo in boosting the coordination between the Kuwaiti ministry of awqaf, and Bosnia Fatwea council to serve the Islamic services and activities in the country.
Charge d'affairs of the Kuwaiti embassy in Sarajevo Adel Al-Adgham told KUNA that Kuwaiti Minsitry exert all possible efforts to support the Islamic culture of Muslims in Bosnia.
