MALAYSIAN ENTREPRENEURS SHOULD PESERVERE IN PENETRATING JAPANESE MARKET
From Amer Hamzah Md Sap
YOKOHAMA, May 18 (Bernama) -- Malaysian entrepreneurs should peservere and
not give up easily in their purusit to penetrate the Japanese market, says
Malaysian Ambassador to Japan Shaharuddin Md Som.
He advised Malaysian businessmen to attend trade exhibitions in Japan to
expose their capabilities among their Japanese counterparts.
"Without participating in expositions or exhibitions here, Japanese
entrepreneurs will never know of our capabilities and initiatives attained by
us," he told Bernama during a visit to the three-day Malaysian Automotive
Industries Exposition (MAIE) which kicked off Wednesday.
The exhibition is held concurrently with the on-going Automotive Engineering
Exposition (AEE) at the Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall.
Shaharuddin said every process had to undergo challenges and took time to
become a reality.
"However, we have agencies such as the Malaysia Investment Development
Authority, the International Trade and Industry Ministry and the Malaysia
External Trade Development Corporation who can offer valuable assistance and
consultation on business potential and opportunities in Japan," he added.
He advised Malaysian investors not to be overly concerned over the release
of radiation from the Fukushima nuclear power plant following the earthquake and
tsunami which struck Japan on March 11.
"Although the situation is serious, the Japanese government and the plant
operator, Tokyo Electric Company, are taking the necessary steps to cushion the
impact," he added.
