Iran's Non-Oil GDP Growth at 4.3%
TEHRAN,May 18 (FNA)- Deputy Governor of Iran's Central Bank announced that the country's GDP (gross domestic product) growth, excluding the oil sector, reached 4.3 percent during the year March 2009-March 2010.
Hossein Ghazavi added that the GDP growth figure was around 3.5 percent, including the oil sector.
He further expressed the hope that the GDP growth would increase in the year ended March 2011.
The Iranian Central Bank official mentioned that in the year ended March 2009, the growth of the agricultural sector contracted to -11.3%. In the oil sector, the growth fell to -2% due to cutting oil production in accordance with OPEC quotas.
"But, the growth of the industrial sector and service sector rose to 4.6% and 2%, respectively," Ghazavi added.
