Kuwait wins four awards in eContent competition
MANAMA, May 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwait won four awards in the Arab eContent Award of 2011, which was held in the Bahrain's capital Manama.
Bahraini Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology Sheikh Mohammad bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa handed out awards for the winners of this competition late Tuesday.
The Science faculty at Kuwait University won the best Information Technology website for "Nanoscopy Science Center", a website that allows students to use microscope applications.
While "your care, from your home", a doctor-patient interactive website which is supervised by a group of specialized doctors, won the best medical and environmental website.
7achy.com, a website that aims at preserving the old Kuwaiti dialect, won the best cultural website while 7yak.c om, a website specialized in smart phones applications won aa award for electronic entertainment and games.
General Director of IT Center Abdullatief Al-Suraya, who attending the award honoring ceremony, told KUNA that "winning four awards in this econtenct competition reflects the degree of technological advancement in Kuwait." He expressed his joy for winning these awards which were equally shared with Bahrain and UAE, stressing the IT center in Kuwait would always give support to all governmental bodies and individuals to help them achieve development in the fields of technology.
He dedicated this win to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people. (end) mga.nfm KUNA 181306 May 11NNNN
