DK LEATHER TOYING WITH IDEA TO SET UP REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE IN JAPAN

From Amer Hamzah Md Sap

YOKOHAMA, May 20 (Bernama) -- DK Leather Seat Sdn Bhd, manufacturer of
automotive leader upholstery, is toying with the idea of establishing a
representative office in Japan.

Business Development Manager Koo Evie said the company needed to look into
the possibility of establishing a representative office for future undertakings
and to penetrate the market after having assessed the current situation there.

Speaking to Bernama on the last day of the three-day Malaysian Automotive
Industry Exhibiton (MAIE) here, she said DK Leather had overseas offices in
Singapore, Netherlands, Germany, United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland, France,
Thailand and the United Arab Emirates, to cater for the export market.

DK Leather exports about 80 per cent of the company's products while
the remaining 20 per cent catered for the domestic market, she added.

Specialising in the manufacture of leather seat covers, door trim wrapping,
steering leather wrapping and leather gear knobs wrapping, the company also
exported its products to the United States, Europe and the Middle East.

Puching-based DK Leather has 700 employees and chalked up a turnover of
RM102 million (US$1=RM3.02) for the financial year ended March 31, 2011.
