Iran to make joint TV productions with Germany and Malaysia

TEHRAN, May 22 (MNA) -- Iran signed contracts with German TV channels and the Malaysian National Film Development Corporation of Malaysia (FINAS) to make joint cinematic productions during meetings at the Cannes film market.

ARTE TV channel (a French-German joint venture) and ZDF German TV channel will be collaborating with IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) in production of a documentary on Iranian wildlife, and Finas will be producing animations on luminaries of the Islamic world, the Persian service of MNA reported on Saturday.

Malaysia also purchased Mohammadreza Honarmand’s TV series “The Chef” as well as the films “Noora” (Mahmud Shulizadeh), “Hayat” (Gholamreza Zamani), “Mama Lala and Her Children” (Kambuzia Partovi), “Tick-tock” (Mohammad-Ali Talebi) and “Paradise Is Somewhere Else” (Abdorrasul Golbon Haqiqi).

The TV series “Heaven” by Mohammadreza Ahanj was also purchased by Turkey while Brazil bought the TV series “Saint Mary” by Shahriar Bahrani.

Iran is scheduled to buy several movies from different foreign companies representing their products at Cannes.

The Cannes film festival and the market will come to an end on Sunday.
