Georgian painting exhibit opens new gallery in Tehran
TEHRAN, May 22 (MNA) -- A painting exhibition by the renowned Georgian artists launched a new gallery at the ECO Cultural Center.
Entitled Diplomatic Gallery, the venue was launched during the opening ceremony of the showcase on May 20.
Ambassadors from several countries to Tehran including Venezuela, Mexico, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan as well as Iranian artists Iran Darrudi, Yadollah Kaboli, Kurosh Shishegaran, and several others attended the opening ceremony.
At the ceremony, the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI) director Hojjatollah Ayyubi pointed to cultural exchanges as a way to extend relations between countries.
A total of 40 paintings on different themes by eleven prominent Georgian painters are currently on display during the showcase.
The exhibit is part of a program for cultural exchanges among countries that are members of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Organized by Tbilisi State Academy of Art, the exhibition is the first painting exhibition by ECO members. The showcase is held on the occasion of Georgia joining this organization.
After this exhibition, paintings by Uzbek artists will go on display at the center.
The showcase will run until May 31 at the institute located on No.10, Naz Valley, off Aqdasieh Ave, Tehran.
