Laos, Vietnam celebrates border mark No-635
VIENTIANE,MAY.(KPL) - On 16 May, Lao and Vietnamese border officials held a ceremony to mark their achievement in installing border post No-635 between Saravane province of Laos and Quang Tri province in Vietnam.
The ceremony was held at Lao-Vietnamese border checkpoint in Lalay.
The celebration ceremony was attended by Saranvane Governor Khamboun Douangpanya, Chairman of People’s Committee of Quang Tri province Nguyen Vuy Phuc and relevant authorities of both sides.
At the ceremony, Chairman of Lao-Vietnamese Border Committee Bounkeuth Sangsomsack and his Vietnamese counterpart Ho Xuan Son emphasized the importance of protection of the border and urged the Lao and Vietnamese people to consider it as a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and prosperity between Laos and Vietnam that contributes to the enhancement of long standing relations and cooperation between the two countries which were founded by late President Khaysone Phomvihane and late President Ho Chi Minh.
