Zimbabwean Official: West Opposing Independent-Seeking Moves by Africans

TEHRAN (FNA)- Visiting Zimbabwean Deputy Minister of Education, Sport and Culture said that the West is at loggerheads with the African countries due to their move towards independence.
"The West is imposing sanctions on African countries due to their struggle for independence," Lazarus Dokora told FNA.

"Zimbabwe, for instance, has been under economic sanctions since 2000 just because of its drive towards independence," he added.

"These sanctions have been imposed on Zimbabwe for the simple fact that we take back our lands from occupiers," Dokora stated.

The official pointed to the rich oil, gold and mine resources of the African nations, and said the western countries attack the African states in a bid to loot these resources.

Dokora also said that the powerful countries misuse their economic power in a bid to weaken the other countries and this sets a clear example of "terrorism".
