Iran Mulling More Lists of US Officials for Sanctions

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian lawmaker announced that the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission will soon take the final steps on the bill of a law which imposes sanctions on 26 US officials for violation of human rights, and added that more similar lists will be introduced in future.
"This is just the first list in imposing sanctions on and prosecuting US officials, and more lists will likely come on the parliament's working agenda," Rapporteur of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Kazzem Jalali told reporters on the sidelines of a parliament session here in Tehran today.

Jalali added that the bill on the prosecution of the 26 US officials will be finalized soon and their names will be released to the public both inside and outside Iran in a move to inform the other world nations of the crimes carried out by the US statesmen.

He further noted that his commission is scheduled to finalize the bill today and refer it to the presiding board.

Jalali had first announced on Monday that the Iranian parliament plans to impose a series of tough sanctions against 26 US officials for violations of human rights.

The United States and its Western allies have already slapped sanctions on a number of Iranian officials over their involvement in the country's controversial nuclear program and alleged violations of human rights.
