Supreme Leader: No Power Able to Stop Islamic Revolution
TEHRAN (FNA)- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei downplayed the attempts made by the enemies to impede the Islamic Revolution, and said that the Iranian nation is continuing its path towards progress and prosperity vigorously.
Addressing a large number of Iranian poets on the occasion of the national 'Women's Day' in Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that the Iranian nation is making progress with much hope and with strong steps.
He underlined that no world power can block the Revolution", given the Iranian nation's hopeful movement and strong steps towards the future.
Ayatollah Khamenei described the Iranian nation's resistance, stability and commitment to values and principles of the Islamic Revolution as a source of hope for the Muslim and other world nations who have pinned hope on this revolution.
"If the Iranian nation withdrew against the threats posed by the world arrogance and desisted from its slogans, these blossoms of hope would wither in the heart of the nations," the Supreme Leader continued.
Ayatollah Khamenei also appreciated the Iranian nation's insightfulness in confronting different enemy plots, and reiterated, "It was because of this insightfulness that the Iranian nation has been able to stand on its own feet and protect its independence, resistance, recognition and faith.
Earlier this month, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had also downplayed enemies' attempts to block Tehran's progress in different scientific and technological fields, and said that the Iranian nation's advancements have defused the plots hatched by the enemies against the country.
Despite the hostile policies and moves of the United States and its European allies, Iran has shown a promising trend of growth in science and economy.
Iran is under four rounds of UN Security Council sanctions for turning down West's calls to give up its right of uranium enrichment, saying the demand is politically tainted and illogical.
Yet, last year the US and the European Union approved a set of extra unilateral sanctions against the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program, mostly targeting the country's energy and banking sectors, including a US boycott of gasoline supplies to Iran.
But the US fuel embargo on Iran proved futile after Iran boosted domestic production, attained self-sufficiency and even exported gasoline.
Iran says that western sanctions and pressures have only consolidated the Iranians' national resolve and encouraged them to reach self-sufficiency in many economic areas, including gasoline production.
