FM Calls Bahraini Envoy
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned Bahrain's charge d'affaires in Tehran to voice the country's strong protest against the trial of an Iranian national at a Manama military court.
A statement released by the Foreign Ministry's Information and Press Bureau said that during the meeting, head of the Foreign Ministry's Social Affairs Department slammed Manama officials for arresting and trying the Iranian national without notifying the Iranian mission in Bahrain.
The Foreign Ministry official also protested at the unjust ruling issued for the Iranian national.
He asked the Bahraini charge d'affaires to inform the Bahraini government of Iran's protest.
The official also called on the Manama government to release the name of the Iranian nationals held in the Arab country and arrange a meeting between them and the Iranian mission in Manama.
