Non-Aligned States Meet in Indonesia

TEHRAN (FNA)- The 16th foreign ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) member states started work in Bali, Indonesia on Wednesday.
The draft document of the activities to be carried out by the movement during the next 50 years will be approved in this meeting. The meeting is being held simultaneously with the 50th anniversary of NAM's foundation back in 1961.
Indonesia hosts the gathering under the chairmanship of Egypt. Iran will take the chair from Egypt at the end of the meeting.
The 16th summit meeting of the NAM will be held in Tehran in 2012.
During the today ministerial meeting in Bali attended by participants from 118 members states, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi, is to deliver a speech.
The Iranian foreign minister will also attend a joint meeting with his Egyptian and Cuban counterparts on the sidelines of the NAM meeting.
NAM, which has 118 member states, is an international organization of states considering themselves not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc.
Azerbaijan Republic and Fiji are to be accepted as new members of the NAM, so the total number of the NAM members will reach 120.
The Non-Aligned Movement in numerous statements has underlined its support for Iran's inalienable right to use peaceful nuclear technology.
