MALAYSIAN PM OFF TO JAPAN FOR 17TH NIKKEI CONFERENCE


SEPANG, May 25 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak left
for Tokyo Wednesday for a two-day visit.

The government aircraft carrying Najib and wife, Rosmah Mansor,
took off at the Bunga Raya complex of KL International Airport at 1.03pm.

The prime minister is expected to deliver a keynote address at the 17th
Nikkei International Conference Thursday.

This is the first Nikkei international conference to be attended by Najib
since becoming the prime minister in April 2009.

He is also expected to hold a meeting with members of the Japan-Malaysia
Economic Association (Jameca), comprising, among others, senior officials of
Japanese giants such as Sumitomo Corporation and Toshiba.

The prime minister is scheduled to return home Thursday night.
