Hamas : Israel Plans to Assassinate Egyptian Leaders to Create Rift among Egyptians
TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior member of the Palestinian Hamas movement warned that Israel has hatched plots to sow discord among Egypt's political and revolutionary parties by assassinating their leaders.
Earlier, media reports in Egypt said that "Israel is planning to wreak havoc in Egypt and plans to implement a series of political assassinations to kill" the most prominent presidential candidates, Mohamed ElBaradei, Hamdeen Sabahi, Badi al-Qaradawi.
The newspaper "Rose El Youssef," on Tuesday reported that this information has been found in the secret documents and images leaked after penetration of the Israeli Defense Ministry and the Office of the Prime Minister and IDF Radio.
Speaking to FNA, the Official in Charge of Hamas Media Communication Talal Nassar Abu Momen underlined the brutal nature of Israel and its spy agency (Mossad), and said Mossad is seeking to spark tension and sow discord in Egypt through assassinating Egyptian figures.
"The Mossad's move is aimed at sowing the seeds of discord and dispute among popular groups in Egypt," Nassar stated.
He added that Israel is furious at the recent revolution in Egypt that toppled Zionists' ally, Hosni Mubarak.
"Tel Aviv is seeking to retaliate against the Egyptian revolutionary forces by assassinating Egyptian figures and projecting the blame on others," he said and underlined that the Israeli plot is aimed at "spreading chaos and insecurity in Egypt".
