Iran to Air Confessions of Arrested CIA Spies

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi said that the country plans to broadcast the confessions of a number of CIA spies arrested during the operations in recent days.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting here in Tehran on Wednesday, Moslehi stated, "A report about the CIA spy network's activities has already been broadcast by the (state-run) TV and God willing the confessions of the arrested spies will be aired too."
Moslehi said airing the confessions of the arrested spies will enlighten the public opinion about their operations and activities.
Earlier, an informed source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told FNA that the network's main goal was "inciting social discontent" among the Iranians in a move to spark seditious moves against the Islamic establishment.
Reports said that Iran has arrested 30 spies and identified 42 CIA field officers and operatives during the operation, and the source said that the spies intended to stage sabotage operations in nuclear and communication facilities and installations, air and defense industries, shipping facilities, airports, Iran's power grid and facilities, oil and gas networks and the stock market as well as other infrastructures.
The Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced on Saturday that it had identified and disbanded a large US spy network with tens of centers, cells and nodes in different world countries, adding that it has arrested 30 spies during the operation.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Intelligence Ministry said it could disband a "complex sabotage and espionage network affiliated to the US spy agency (CIA) following a series of extensive intelligence and counter-espionage measures and operations inside and outside Iran".
