Pakistan's Interior Minister: Terrorists United to Avenge Bin Laden's Death

TEHRAN (FNA)- Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik warned of some new terrorist moves in the region, and said the alleged killing of Al-Qaeda Leader Osama bin Laden by the US forces has united the terrorist groups to take revenge from Pakistan.
"The United States' self-centered operations on Pakistan's soil have united the terrorist groups to take bin Laden's revenge," Malik told reporters, adding that Washington's unilateral move against the leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist group has decelerated Islamabad's anti-terrorism efforts.

He reiterated that certain terrorist groups like Tahrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and other groups have become united against Pakistan as their number one enemy and want to avenge Bin Laden's death.

Malik also announced formation of an impartial fact-finding committee by Pakistan to investigate the events in Abatabad, where the US allegedly hunted down the al-Qaeda ringleader.

After US claimed that it had cut down the head of terrorism in the region by killing Osama bin Laden, the al-Qaeda assassinated a Saudi diplomat in the country.

"Undoubtedly Al-Qaeda has had a role in the assassination of the Saudi diplomat," Malik told FNA earlier this month, adding that Islamabad authorities have started organized investigations to identify those responsible for the attack.

The Pakistani minister's remarks came as the US officials claimed that they have managed to uproot a main body of the al-Qaeda terrorist activities by killing its ringleader.

Earlier this month, media sources in Pakistan said al-Qaeda's second man, Ayman al-Zawahiri, will most likely succeed Osama bin Laden after US announced that it has hunted down the terrorist group's number one man.
